We have been asked by our client Mr Alan Preston to prepare a planting proposal to offer a
screen for planning application 17/00205/B (Friary Croft) we feel this is best proposed plan
to suit the site.

Area proposed to be planted is 460m2, hatched in yellow on plan. The area is south facing.
The area will be block planted to offer good tree cover / visual screening.
The hedge running alongside the high road offers good protection from the prevailing south
west to west wind, the area will be fenced with agricultural spec fencing. A 3 year
maintenance plan will be implemented to ensure the trees survive.

Trees to be planted (bare root whip 60-80 cm) at a spacing of 1 meter.

## Tree protection

Stock proof fencing with gate, with green windbreak fitted.
Spiral tree guards and stake secured with tie to be adjusted as when required.

### Post planting maintenance

60 cm Square spot spray of herbicide $\times 2$ applications per year
Wood chip mulch around the base of each tree.
Additional hand weeding within spiral guard,
Watering in dry periods of weather.
Replacement of dead or failing trees, along with formative pruning as and when required.
