# Roof Lantern Planning Statement

## Appendix I - existing site

Planning application - Christian Lewis Cooil, Brierdene, 5 Governors Road, Onchan, Isle of Man, IM3 1AX

The proposed work is to be undertaken on an existing single story extension to the rear of the property - dimensions of the extension are; 3850 mm in length $\times 4000 \mathrm{~mm}$ wide by 2550 mm high.

The existing flat roof (now removed) was grey fibre glass which had been laid over existing felt and there was also a rectangular roof light with dimensions of $1800 \mathrm{~mm} \times 1500 \mathrm{~mm}$. Both the flat roof and roof light had failed, were leaking severely, beyond repair and unsightly.

The proposal is to replace the flat roof like for like with no change to the pitch or the height. This will again be constructed from fibre glass with the top coat being a similar / standard grey colour. In addition to this it is proposed that the existing roof light ( $1800 \mathrm{~mm} \times 1500 \mathrm{~mm}$ ) be replaced with a roof lantern ( $1900 \mathrm{~mm} \times 2467 \mathrm{~mm}$ ). Please see Appendix II for details of the roof light.
