## 10. Thermal Performance

#### 10.1. Summary

This proposal provides options for refurbishing the roof, either as a waterproofing only system only or in conjunction with new thermal insulation.

#### 10.2. Indicative U-Values

Option A - Current Roof - $\quad 0.38 \mathrm{~W} / \mathrm{m}^{2} \mathrm{~K}$
Option B - Current Roof - $\quad 0.21 \mathrm{~W} / \mathrm{m}^{2} \mathrm{~K}$
These figures are indicative based on A - the current insulation thickness; and B - with an additional 50 mm PIR insulation. Other options on thermal upgrades are of course available on request from Polyroof Technical Services.

The above U-Value is for consideration by the client. It is the client's responsibility to confirm the required U value based on performance requirements and current building regulations standards. If in any doubt further guidance should be sought from local authority building control regarding this.

#### 10.3. Waterproofing Only (Option A)

Option A has been prepared based on a new waterproofing system only at the specific request of the client. Please note that no improvements to the existing thermal performance of the roof will be made and any existing condensation problems will remain. Due to the fact the existing roof is being removed and replaced with a new roof on a like-for-like basis, the client should be made aware that a thermal upgrade is likely to be required under current building regulation standards. It is therefore strongly recommended that the client seeks guidance and obtains approval from the relevant local authority for the proposed refurbishment prior to the commencement of works.
