# Exterior Seating Management Plan

## Management Plan For The Exterior Seating On Victoria Street And Duke Street Douglas

This Management plan has been prepared in support of an application for permission to use an area of the pedestrianised Duke Street and part of the pavement area on Victoria Street, Douglas for exterior seating, servicing the proposed coffee shop in 18a and 20 Victoria Street, Douglas.

Douglas Development Partnership is actively encouraging such developments in Douglas,

### Cafe Bar Restaurant Opening Times And Staffing

The opening hours will be 7am – 7pm Monday – Friday, 8am – 7pm Saturday, 9am – 6pm Sunday.

Opening times are 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday. The seating area outside, will be monitored regularly by the staff. The seating outside will be for customers of the premises only. (see drawings). Staffing is envisaged to be in the region of 6 staff at most times.

### Specification

**Awnings** – There will be three separate awnings each individually controlled, over the seating areas. The Awnings will be bracketed from the existing building sympathetically, as indicated on the detail provided clearing the original panels.

When retracted the awnings will be suitably sized so not to affect the aesthetic of the existing building.

**Freestanding Canvas Barriers** – These will be of suitable size to provide a suitable barrier between pedestrians and customers. They will be left out only during opening times of the coffee shop. They will be weighted to prevent being moved, but can be removed if necessary by removing the weights or with

**Outdoor Furniture** – The furniture will be outside only in the coffee shops opening hours, stored internally when closed.

**Walking and space for vehicles to pass** – There is a 3.3m between the proposed seating area and the kerb to Victoria Street. There is 5.4m to the building on the opposite side of the pedestrian access from the proposed seating.
