## Supporting Information

Little Bears Nursery is a start-up business that will provide childcare day services for children aged 0-5years. This application is for Lezayre Church Hall to be used as the venue for the nursery. Although the building can hold up to 45 children based on the minimum space requirements, we will initially cater for up to 20 children with the potential to increase to 32 over time. The 20 children will consist of a maximum of six under 2 year olds, and the remaining number of 2-5 year olds. The Department of Health and Social Care's ratio of 1:8 for children aged 2-5 years and 1:3 for children aged under 2 years, will require 3-4 staff members.

### Hours of Operation

The nursery will close for one week at TT and Grand Prix due to being located inside the course. It will also close for one week at Christmas and for bank holidays.

The sessions offered are as follows:
Morning - 8am to 12.30 pm
Afternoon - ipm to 5.30 pm
School day -8.30 am to 4 pm
Full day -8 am to 6 pm

The morning session end time and the afternoon session start time have been staggered to reduce the traffic.

### Car parking and access

There is a car park behind the hall which can easily accommodate staff parking and families dropping off and collecting their children. As suggested by Hazel Reid at Highway Services, access and egress will be via the loop road behind the hall. The nursery is not to be accessed directly from the main road due to the restricted visibility.

## Proposed alterations

- Inside the building the current ladies toilet is to be replaced with four infant toilets and four sinks. This adheres to the requirement of one toilet and one sink per eight children. The current entrance into the toilet will be blocked up and a new entrance created.
- Outside fencing will be erected to create a secure outdoor play area for children; this will be 6 ft high. There will also be a fenced area to provide a secure entrance/exit to the building; this will be 4ft high.
