## Demolition of Existing Steel Frame Barn

At Church Farm, Cregneash, IM9 5PX

### Supporting Information to Accompany Planning Application

The existing steel framed agricultural building at Church Farm is in a poor structural condition and beyond any means of practicable repair. This is a fact that has been highlighted in a structural engineer's condition report by Burrough Stewart Associates dated February 2014 which states "the link and steel framed barn are no longer serviceable... Given the condition of the steel members, we recommend the framed barn and link to be demolished within the next 6-12 months." The report also advises that the building is unsafe for members of the public and that they be excluded from the building at all times, with no entry for members of staff during periods of high winds. These restrictions have been implemented and mean that the building can no longer be put to effective use.

The extents of the area created by the removal of the existing steel framed agricultural building and associated concrete floor slab is to be reinstated with top soil and grass with grass reinforcement mesh. The reinforcement mesh will provide for increased durability and improved use of the area for any public events or such like associated with Cregneash Village.
