# Hospitality Facility Description

The island has a reputation in its ability to host large, high quality international events, the flagship event of which is the TT races, a brand recognised around the world and attracting approximately 50,000 visitors annually.

These events have developed over recent years building on past success; in line with the Isle of Man Visitor Economy Strategy and Council of Ministers policy on motor sports to further develop existing events. Part of this development is the provision of a hospitality facility for VIPs. This is no longer viewed as desirable, but an essential element in the development and delivery of corporate hospitality. As such, catering for 500 VIPs, it will provide a significant revenue stream. In addition to this, approximately 50 temporary jobs will be created.

Identifying and developing new opportunities also forms part of this policy. It is intended, therefore, to utilise the facility during the intervening period, between the bookend events of May and September, for occasional weekend presentations, such as Rally Isle of Man. These will be motor sport focussed events. Further details of these will follow shortly from the Department of Economic Development.

The proposal comprises the erection of a 500-seat hospitality facility within Noble's Park Playing fields adjacent to the TT Grandstand, within the wider TT and Festival of Motor sport paddock areas.

It is proposed that the facility will be erected just prior to the Isle of Man TT Motorcycle Races in May (two week period) remaining in situ until after the Festival of Motorcycling (the blanket name for the Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix Races) in August/September (two week period). The unit will take two weeks to erect and two weeks to dismantle. The application is proposed for this year, 2014, and all future years that the events take place. Preparation will be required the day prior to event days. On event days it is anticipated that preparation will start at 8.30 with the facility open to VIPs from 9.30am. The last hour of operation would be 2300 hours plus a period of clear up, which would be midnight.

The facility will include a full commercial kitchen with food storage, preparation and serving facilities, together with separate coffee and licensed bars.

For entertainment purposes there will be a full audiovisual system and stage and associated public address system where celebrities can be interviewed. There may be associated amplified music, however, it is not anticipated that this facility be used for music events.

Full disabled access will be provided.

High quality mobile toilet facilities (including disabled) will be provided by a local contractor, who will be responsible for emptying and servicing the units.

Mains water and electricity will be provided from existing distribution units adjacent to the facility (installed specifically for the purpose of supplying hospitality units). Gas is not required.

Wastewater from the kitchen will go into above ground storage tanks (within the facility). These will be emptied periodically. Refuse will be disposed into commercial bins, emptied by Douglas Corporation. Rainwater run-off will be discharged into the adjacent 14-acre field. The facility will be fitted with (recorded) CCTV and a monitored intruder alarm. [Table omitted in markdown export]
