# PT Associates Planning Statement

## Specification /Information sheet

### PT Associates
design & project solutions

**Project :-** Proposed Crèche Area, Warehouse fitness Gym
**Project ref** PTA 43

**Element of work -** Planning application supporting statement

### Existing situation

The site currently has approval for and work is underway to open a ladies only gymnasium facility. This gymnasium will have associated facilities, steam / sauna / Jacuzzi spa, Changing areas, dance studios, treatment rooms and a coffee lounge. All the facilities mentioned above are for the use of the members only

### New proposals

This supplementary application is for the provision of a crèche facility at ground floor level. This area would be for members of the gym to leave small, pre-school aged children whilst using gym and associates facilities.

It is felt that the provision of this facility would broaden the appeal of the existing facility offering a safe and controlled environment for young children to be looked after & entertained. It is intended that the facility be open to scrutiny form the department of children and the guidelines provided there for the care of young children is adhered to.

The spatial and staffing guidelines are such that the facility would only be able to offer care for a small number of young children, and it is intended that this care would be offered on a short term basis – in block sessions of 1 or 2 hours at a time.

The proposals include a small area for the changing of babies and a separate WC area. The existing drainage facilities are such that they would be easily adapted. Ventilation would be added to comply with building control, which will be applied for should this application be successful.

The additional benefit would be that it would further add to the regeneration of the site offering a community appeal.

It is anticipated that there would not be any additional traffic as the facility is for those members who will already be at the gym facility.
