# Officer Recommendation Memo

## PA 11/01674/B – Reroofing work to dwelling. 20 Castle Street, Peel. Further to my letter of the 6th January 2012 and the response from the applicant (Mrs Anne Atchison) it has been clarified by a phone call to the applicant that the existing roofing material is natural slate and the proposal is to replace these with natural slate as part of the repair and maintenance of the roof. As such, the proposal constitutes repair rather than development and does not require planning approval, meaning that the submitted planning application is not required. It should be noted that the concrete interlocking tile submitted with the planning application was initially an option for reroofing but is no longer proposed I recommend that the planning application be deemed withdrawn and the applicant has their fee (£61) refunded. Anthony Holmes Senior Planning Officer 16th January 2012
