Dear Sir,

**ISLE OF MAN PLANNING SCHEME (DEVELOPMENT PLAN) ORDER 1982 08/01699/B – Alterations and extension to dwelling, 9 Castleward Green, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM2 5PS.**

Douglas Corporation acts as the agent for the Department of Transport, under the Sewerage Act 1999 writes to advise that it **has no objection in principle** to the above application subject to the following:-

### Public Sewer

The applicant agent has been made aware of an *existing live public surface water sewer* adjacent to the property. It will, therefore, be necessary for the applicant’s contractor to implement a method of construction which provides protection to this asset.

There must be NO discharge of surface water (directly or indirectly) from this proposed development to any foul drainage system(s) so as to comply with the requirements of the Department of Transport Drainage Division and the Sewerage Act 1999.

It should be noted that it is an offence under Manx legislation to permit the discharge of polluting or harmful matter to any public sewers or watercourses. Appropriate measures must be taken by the developer/occupier of the premises to ensure compliance with the legislation.

In the event that this application is approved I should be grateful if these comments could be incorporated in the approval notice.
