## Town and Country Planning Act 1999

### Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005

### The Registered Buildings Regulations 2005

Partington Nixon \& Kinrade
7-9 Drinkwater Street
Douglas
IM1 1AT
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act, Order and Regulations the PLANNING COMMITTEE of the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:

Name:
Proposal:
at:

Heron \& Brearley Limited
Registered Building consent for alterations to Douglas Hotel (in association with 08/00132/GB) Registered Building Nos. 186
Douglas Hotel
48 North Quay
Douglas
Isle Of Man
IM1 4LA
which was considered on 14 August 2008, for the reasons set out below.
Date of Issue: 15th August 2008
Murray House
Mount Havelock
Douglas

Secretary to the Planning Committee

### Reasons For Refusal:

1. The proposed alterations would be contrary to Environment Policy 32 of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007 and Policy RB/5 of Planning Policy Statement 1/01 in that the proposed works are not sympathetic to the registered building, and do not protect or enhance the character of the registered building. Furthermore, the application does not provide sufficient evidence to justify the level of works required in order to renovate the building.

This decision was made by the Planning Committee constituted in accordance with Article 3(1) of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
