Dear Paula,

My interest in these applications are on planning policy and I would appreciate my comments being brought to the attention of the planning committee.

1687 - Retention of planted, and approval for completion of an afforestation scheme, Glen Auldyn, Lezayre

I have no objection to the principle as the introduction of a variety of trees should encourage a diversity of wildlife, and habitats - without adversely affecting the existing ecology - and assist in reducing run-off in storm conditions to the watercourses. It will also add variety to a fairly plain landscape.

1698 - Erection of a dwelling, plot at the Spinney, Baldrine Hill, Lonan I have no objection to the principle but the design is not the most attractive but it is fairly well screened from the road. 1688 - Reserved matters application for the erection of an agricultural workers dwelling, Ballachrink Farm, Old Castletown Road, Santon

I had no objection to the original application and consider this proposal to have a low impact on the rural landscape. I am surprised it is a 'bungalow' - not that I have a problem with the design other than the lack of a solar panel - as I had the impression that the planners were insisting that other applicants had to build a 'Manx vernacular styled' house.

1694 - Alterations to sports hall, Mount Murray This proposal will increase the visual impact of this building - but it is probably insufficient to warrant an objection. 1319 - Construction of 6 first time buyer homes etc, Main Rd Colby

I do not object to the principle but my first impression is that the design is somewhat drab and dreary - but I suppose the object is to keep the price down. Why no solar panels? Could do better - but probably insufficient reason for an objection.

1741 - Conversion of existing implement shed into ancillary staff accommodation, Crogga Mill, Braddan

I am aware of the planning history for this site. However, I still find no reason to object to the proposal - which I consider to have far less visual impact or other valid planning reasons for objection when compared to some of the approvals for other dwellings etc in the Port Soderick area over the last few years.

As long as the use of the accommodation is tied to the use of the main house I have no objection to the proposal.

1722 - Alterations and conversion of existing outbuildings to provide a residential dwelling etc. Knocksharry Farm House, German

14/11/2006

I have no objection to the principle of this proposal although I would like to see some use of green energy, grey water etc to compensate for the rural location.

Yours etc,
