2nd June 2006

For the attention of the Secretary to the Planning Committee.

Maughold Parish Commissioners held a meeting to consider planning issues on Thursday 1st June 2006, and would like to submit comment on the following applications:

06/00727/B First floor extension over garage to provide family room; *High Ridge, Slieu Lewaigue*. The Commission has no concerns with the proposals in this application. 06/00799/B Alterations and extensions to existing dwelling, and alteration to existing garage. *Cornaa House, Ballaglass Glen*.

The Commission would like the Planning Committee to note the following:
They ask if the plans can be referred to DAFF to ensure that the extension does not encroach on to their glenside property.
They are concerned that approval of the garage extension without appropriate conditions may lead to the building becoming used as a separate dwelling.

06/00813/B Replacement windows. *Maughold Lighthouse, Maughold*.

The Commission have no concerns with the proposed replacement hard wood windows on the landward side. They note the comments of the Assistant Conservation Officer that the use of suitably designed UPVC windows on the seaward side is reasonable due to the adverse weather conditions, and feel that the proposed replacements are a visually acceptable option.

The Commission thanks the Planning Committee for the opportunity to comment on these applications.

Yours faithfully

Martin Royle
Clerk to Maughold Parish Commissioners.
