## THE APPLICATION SITE AND PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT

The application site comprises the curtilage of Maughold Lighthouse in Maughold.

The proposed development comprises of the installation of timber sliding sash windows in the landward side of the building and uPVC casement windows in the seaward side of the building to replace the existing windows.

PLANNING HISTORY There are no previous planning applications that I consider material to the assessment of this current planning application. REPRESENTATIONS Maughold Parish Commissioners recommend that the planning application be approved. PLANNING POLICY The application site represents a property within the open countryside under the 1982 Development Plan Order. The application site is within a Conservation Area.

## ASSESSMENT

Given its exposed and isolated location I consider the proposed choice of windows to be acceptable. Whilst the property is not Registered this conclusion was discussed and agreed with Steve Moore, Building Conservation Officer.

I recommend that the planning application be approved.

### Party Status

I consider that all parties that made representations to the planning application meet the criteria of Government Circular 1/06 and should be afforded interested party status.
