### Officer's Report

#### Site

The property at the La Mona Lisa Restaurant is located on the corner of Glen Road and Minorca Hill north of the Laxey River. The property is an attached two storey, with is within a Conservation Area.

#### Proposal

Proposal the application proposes the installation of a replacement hardwood with glass panelling (Kentucky, see door guide enclosed) front door. The existing door which would be replaced is identical to what has now been proposed in this application.

#### Representations

The Laxey Village Commissioners have considered the application and have no objection.

We have received no privately written representations objecting to the application.

## Assessment / Recommendation

I sent a letter to the applicant after discussing the application with the Conservation Officer, who said he preferred the "Chelsea" design door. I have since discussed the letter with the applicant who has stated that he still wishes to have the "Kentucky" installed. Although the "Chelsea design of door would be preferred I do not consider the design of the door has significant adverse impact upon the Conservation Area to warrant a refuse, due to the number of different types and styles which currently exists within the area and how the proposed timber door will improve the appearance of the property due to the bad state of repair of the existing.

For these reason the proposal would seem appropriate in these locations and therefore my recommendation is for an approval. I consider that the following meet the criteria of Government Circular 1/06 and should be afforded interested party status: The Laxey Village Commissioners
