The site is within an area designated as Predominantly Residential on the Port Erin Plan. Proposed here is the replacement of the existing windows with new ones framed in plastic and sliding up and down on the front elevation and with fixed and casement lights. The schedule seems to suggest that the front elevation would have plastic framed sliding sashes except from the top round- headed window which would have a round headed fixed light on top of a lower top hinged casement. An inward opening bottom hinged casement would have less impact than an outward opening top hinged window as is proposed. The windows on the rear are to be top hinged top opening casements. These are not publicly visible to any great extent.
