The near of 23 Michael Street is located within the Peel Conservation Area. The proposed is the demolition of the existing Smoke Houses (long since redundant) and their replacement with an approval that essentially replicates the existing Smoke Houses in form, massing and material usage. This scheme was the subject of a former application in principle for the same (04/01495) which was refused. This scheme is the result of substantial meetings and discussions with the clients and their agents. Approve subject to the Committee's approval of a brick sample and that the 'grey slate' should be natural slate and a sample approved by Committee.
