[Table omitted in markdown export] Recommendations | Approval / Refuse --- | --- | Signed | | Date | [Table omitted in markdown export] Summary of objections / views Recommendations Approval / Refuse Recommend Rejural of this application. Signed Date 23 6 5 [Table omitted in markdown export] 1. The site comprises the curtilage of a stone barn; adjoining the east of the Glen Road in Colby. 2. Within the Conservation Area. 3. Under 02/1885, approval was granted for conversion into a dwelling. 4. New proposed are amendments:- (a) demolition of existing garage and part of the boundary wall; and (b) erection of a replacement garage and replacement walling. Six trees would be filled also. Signed ☐ Date 3/5/05 LA - "no comments" (in a conservation area). HA - defer Drainage A - conditional approval SPMCE - "v good; in middle of village anyway" 5. The principal issues are (a) loss of the existing fabric; (b) the design of the replacement fabric; (c) access/egress alterations; (d) relationship to public sewers crossing the site; and (e) loss of the trees (to the extent, if any, that this is subject to planning control). 6. Loss of fabric If the stone is re-used, I think this would be acceptable, since the existing walling, although looking aged and comfortable, also looks unsound. Removal of the existing garage and part of the stone boundary wall, and removal of the roadside trees would affect adversely the appearance and character of the Conservation Area; there is not in the submitted application evidence sufficient to off-set this objection.
