Approval is sought to demolish an existing garage and stone outbuilding at Malew House, Malew Road, Castletown and construct a unit for tourist/guest accommodation.

The unit would have one bedroom with a patio area and parking for one vehicle to the side. The site is fairly well screened from the road by existing mature trees subject to condition the proposal is considered to be acceptable.

C 1. The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.

C 2. This approval relates to Drawing Numbers 03/66/01 and 02 Rev A, submitted and date stamped 7th June 2004.

C 3. The unit may be occupied in association with Malew House only and not as a separate unit of permanent residential accommodation.

C 4. The exterior stonework must be of a traditional nature.

NOTE: Split stone on a backing render is not acceptable as an external finish.

C 5. The roof(s) must be finished in dark natural slate.

C 6. All plumbing stacks must be constructed internally.

N 1. The Chief Fire Officer recommends the installation of mains wired interconnected domestic smoke detection.

I confirm that this decision accords with Government Circular No 57/01 (Delegation of Functions to Director of Planning and Building Control).
