# Planning Officer Report

## Planning Report **PA 03/1644** ### The Site Glen Cottage, Glen Maye ### The Proposal Replacement bay window on the front elevation. The existing is timber framed in a casement style. The upper floor windows which are not proposed to be replaced as part of this application, are timber sliding sash. Approval has been granted however for replacement aluminium sliding sash windows under PA 02/2371. An aluminium casement window is now proposed. The front pane is to be fixed; the two outer panes are to be half opening casement windows. ### The Planning History PA 02/2371 Replacement of existing timber framed windows with aluminium - approved 23rd April 2004. The ground floor window was to be sliding sash. ### Views/Comments Patrick Comms and DoT (H) - No objections ### Assessment The applicant suggests that a sliding sash window would require more substantial sections than a casement window. Given that the existing window is not the original, it is judged that a casement window would be acceptable in this modest bay window. ### Recommendation **Approve** Diane Robinson 16.1.04
