Application no. 03/01766/A Site visited YES Planning report and recommendations General report The application is for approval in principle for the conversion of the basement and ground floor of a former hotel on Mooragh Promenade in Ramsey into three residential units. The proposal follows a previous application (03/1120) for the conversion into six residential units. Whilst specific detail within the application was lacking the conversion into six units was refused on the basis that the amount of space within the basement and ground floor was inadequate to create six suitable residential units. The refusal was issued with a without prejudice note stating that the conversion into three residential units may be acceptable. Whilst specific detail is also lacking within this application it is considered that sufficient space exists to create three residential units that accord with the provisions of Planning Circular 2/88. Whilst the application will not provide any dedicated parking it is considered that there is sufficient parking available along Mooragh Promenade. On this basis approval in principle is acceptable. Summary of objections/views Ramsey TC - objection of the grounds that no car parking details have been submitted, drainage details are required and a plan showing the layout of the residential units is required.
