# Officer Planning Report

## Planning Report and Recommendations ### General Report **Site Visited** ☑ **YES/NO** The plot is an existing one located in King Edward Park - a new development of 11 dwellings between the dide houses in King Edward Park and the new office HQ on the Douglas Bay Hotel site. This is a half of a part of semi-detached houses with integer parking. Proposed here is an extension of 7 story level to provide additional car parking (long accommodation which is in itself acceptable). However, also proposed is the conversion of the existing garage to a living room with no replacement of the lost parking. This results in a very large house and I don't feel the loss of the garage is justified. The visitor parking provided would prevent fuller parking space behind the building line being provided. **Refer for discussion with applicant.** SEC 11/7/03 See letter of 11th and 18th July to explain the applicant's intentions. ### Summary of objections/views ODC refuse - loss of parking space DOTCK. ### Recommendations **Approve/Refuse** For the garage, the extension will be quite sizeable and the need for it does not on the basis of the information available. Justify the loss of parking space. Widening the space will reduce the garden by more than half. Signed Date SEC 21/7/03. [Table omitted in markdown export]
