### Officer's Report

The site represents the curtilage of the Ard Whallin Outdoor Pursuits Centre situated to the south of the Injebreck reservoir in Braddan, north of West Baldwin village. The site encompasses an existing stone building, stone shed and a large field, some of which is already given over to activities in the form of rope swings, logs and obstacles. The site is used for outdoor pursuits in an organised manner, supervised by staff. The site has been used for outdoor pursuits for some time although the first applications in the 1970s and 80s (IDOs 47917 (1978), 52819 (1980) and 55649 (1981) define the site as only the immediate curtilage of the buildings. The larger site was defined in the 2001 application (01/01118) for extensions to accommodation toilet facilities.

Since the creation of the facility a new house has been erected on the basis of agricultural need immediately to the north.

Proposed here now is the creation of a low ropes course. This takes the form of a series of wooden poles with ropes attached from which children swing and on which they climb. This fits in with the equipment and layout already on the site and will not have any adverse impact either on the adjacent residential property or the visual impact of the site which is visible but from a considerable distance from around St. Luke's Church.
