### Officer's Report

The application seeks to alter and extend a detached dwelling in Andreas. Despite its size the dwelling, which is located along a minor road off the A9 Ramsey to Andreas road, is not readily visible within the surrounding area.

The proposed extensions are quite sizable but are considered to be in keeping with the character of the dwelling. They extend into areas already containing existing buildings and would not actually be visible from outside the immediate area surrounding the dwelling. The applicant's agent has submitted clarification as to why the extensions are required. An objection by the Chief Fire Officer has been overcome by an amended plan. I recommend that the application be approved.

C 2 . This approval relates to drawing no.s SC762/P/10-01, SC762/P/10-02, SC762/P/10-03, SC762/P/1005, SC762/P/10-06, SC762/P/11-01, SC762/P/12-01 and SC762/P/12-02 date stamped the 24th December 2003 and drawing no. SC762/P/10-04 rev A date stamped the 5th March 2004.
