Despite its size the dwelling, which is located along a minor road off the A9 Ramsey to Andreas road, is not readily visible within the surrounding area. The proposed extensions are quite sizable but are considered to be in keeping with the character of the dwelling. They extend into areas already containing existing buildings and would not actually be visible from outside the immediate area surrounding the dwelling. The applicant's agent has submitted clarification as to why the extensions are required. An objection by the Chief Fire Officer has been overcome by an amended plan.
