TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1999 The Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2019

In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act, and subordinate Orders and Regulations, the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture determined to REFUSE an application by Manx Telecom, Ref 25/90395/B, for the Installation of 3 telegraph poles to provide fibre optic connectivity to 1-6 Rheast Bridson Peel at Rheast Bridson Peel IM5 1JF for the following reason(s):

1. The proposed installation of THREE wooden telegraph poles and their associated cabling and the poles linear progression through the streetscene, the east side of which is predominantly bungalows, would due to the siting, height, size and scale of the proposals result in a negative visual impact which would adversely affect the character of the streetscene to an unacceptable degree. As such, the proposed development would be contrary to the provisions of General Policy 2 b), c), and h) of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2016.

A determination to refuse planning approval does not have effect —

-  if an appeal is submitted until the appeal is determined or withdrawn; or

Appeal Any appeal must be in writing, include the appropriate fee and be submitted to the Department within 21 days of the date of this Notice.
