# Consultation 1 Eocsystem Policy Officer

From: Costain, Sophie (DEFA) To: DEFA, Planning Cc: Spencer, Daniel Subject: PA 23/10039/AIR - Information in relation of Conditions 06 and 14 of 22/00399/B Date: 24 July 2023 13:46:26 Attachments: image001.png

Good afternoon

RE: PA 23/10039/AIR - Information in relation of Conditions 06 and 14 of 22/00399/B

Though the Ecosystem Policy Team are generally content with the details provided in the two landscape plans, we think that more details are required regarding the creation of the pond, including a species list for planting and details about its design to ensure that sloping sides are incorporated to allow use by wildlife. Though species lists for the creation of the semi-natural features such as the Manx banks and meadow area have not been supplied, we are content that the planting is to be undertaken in line with MWT recommendations, though we are unsure if this technically satisfies condition 14, which specifically asks for “schedules of plants (no non-native species), noting species, plant sizes and proposed numbers / densities and a programme for the implementation, completion and subsequent management of the proposed landscaping.”

Best wishes

## Sophie
