## Officer’s Report

1.0 Description - 1.1 The proposed application 24/00620/B was approved on 15.08.2024 for the widening existing driveway and vehicular access subject to 2 conditions one of which required submission of additional information prior to the commencement of works. - 1.2 This report is specific to Condition 2 which the applicants are seeking to satisfy. - 1.3 Specific wording of the condition as follows:

Prior to commencement, details for the drainage of the driveway shall be approved in writing by the Department. The drainage solution shall be installed according to the approved details and retained thereafter.

Reason: in the interest of protecting highway drainage.

2.0 Proposal - 2.1 The applicant submitted an application along with an email advising they had spoken with the DoI Highway inspector who advised that drainage wouldn't be needed. Discussions with the Highway inspector confirmed that the finished driveway will sit below the pavement so drainage will not be needed.

3.0 Consultation - 3.1 Highway Drainage was consulted for advice on the satisfaction of condition. The advice received on 18.10.2024, after their review of the submitted documents, concludes that they are pleased with the Highway Inspectors assessment.

4.0 Recommendation - 4.1 In the instance of the submitted applicant as well as the email from the applicant as well as the inspector and after consultation with the Highway Drainage, who are happy with the level of detail, it is deemed sufficient and would be considered satisfactory for planning condition 2 of application 24/00620/B.

I can confirm that this decision has been made by a Principal Planner in accordance with the authority afforded to that Officer by the appropriate DEFA Delegation and that in making this decision the Officer has agreed the recommendation in relation to who should be afforded Interested Person Status.
