In this instance of the submitted documentation and after consultation with the case officer from the original application, who has confirmed is happy with the information provided, it is deemed sufficient to achieve the desired outcome and would be considered satisfactory for the planning condition 3 of application 24/00305/C, under the understanding that the development shall not be carried out unless in accordance with the approved information. ## Plans/Drawings/Information; This decision hereby approved relates to documents submitted to the Department on 25.09.2024, titled: Application Form and Disposal Plan. __________________________________________________________________________

## Officer’s Report

1.0 Description - 1.1 The proposed application 24/00305/C for the change of use of industrial unit to dog grooming and kennelling (retrospective) was approved on by the Planning Committee on 16.09.2024 subject to 3 conditions, one of which required submission of additional information prior to the commencement of works. - 1.2 This report is specific to Condition 3 which the applicants are seeking to satisfy. - 1.3 Specific wording of the conditions are as follows: Within 1 month of the date of this decision, the applicant shall provide to the Department a waste storage and disposal plan. Said plan shall include details of where and how waste from the premises will be stored and arrangements for its disposal.

Reason: In the interest of amenity and to ensure there is no impact upon health and wellbeing in the area.

2.0 Proposal - 2.1 The applicant has provided a duly completed application form, as well as information indicating the operations of their waste management plan.

2.2 It is proposed that all dog hair will be stored in recycled cardboard boxes and once full will be taken to the amenity site as the hair is classified as a burnable material. - 2.3 The applicant also states that they are in talks with a UK company called Matter of Trust who safely collect dog hair and use it for ecological purposes like cleaning up oil spills. - 2.4 It has been confirmed that all dog foul will be cleaned up in a dog foul bag and be disposed of in a dedicated dog foul bin which is located at the end of Balthane Road.

3.0 Recommendation - 3.1 In this instance of the submitted documentation and after consultation with the case officer from the original application, who has confirmed is happy with the information provided, it is deemed sufficient to achieve the desired outcome and would be considered satisfactory for the planning condition 3 of application 24/00305/C, under the understanding that the development shall not be carried out unless in accordance with the approved information.

I can confirm that this decision has been made by a Principal Planner in accordance with the authority afforded to that Officer by the appropriate DEFA Delegation and that in making this decision the Officer has agreed the recommendation in relation to who should be afforded Interested Person Status.
