In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture determined to APPROVE an application by Michael Parish Church, Ref 24/00464/CON, for the Registered building consent for the installation of protective panels to church windows RB 248 (in association with 24/00463/GB) at St Michaels Church Main Road Kirk Michael Isle Of Man IM6 1ER .

Any conditions or notes which apply to the approval are set out below. This approval is subject to compliance with any conditions listed and may not be implemented until it becomes final (see guidance notes).

1. The works hereby granted registered building consent shall be begun before the expiration of four years from the date of this consent.

Reason: To comply with paragraph 2(2)(a) of schedule 3 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1999 and to avoid the accumulation of unimplemented registered building consents.

This decision relates to the location plan, site plan and window protection detail drawings, together with the statement of needs and statement of significance documents all received on 30th April 2024.

This decision has been made for the following reasons(s) The application meets the statutory test within section 16 of the Act, as the building and its features of special architectural and historic interest are being preserved by the protective coverings proposed. It is also judged that the application accords with Strategic Policy 4 and Environment Policy 32 of the Strategic Plan as the proposed works would protect and preserve the building's special interest. The application is therefore considered to be acceptable.
