I recall the discussions regarding waste collections during the initial application process and the plan was always to have them accessed through an opening onto the pavement, which the attached plans do show. Looking at the drawings there would appear to be space to add a fourth bins should the demand warrant it. As a residential care home, clinical waste will be collected outside of this disposal route. I have checked with Malew Parish Commissioners who used to collect waste from a residential care home within their local authority area and this was undertaken 3x per week with 3 or 4 x 1100L bins. The home is currently served by a private waste contractor so there may well have been changes. Only other comment I would make on the sketches is that the refuse collection vehicle would be on the roadside to pick up the wheelie bins and there does not appear to be a dropped kerb by the gateway. Manoeuvring an 1100L bin down a kerb is not ideal, so we would recommend a dropped kerb at that point. Alternatively, they could be collected from the car park but this involves manual handling of the bins over a greater distance which provides its own challenges.
