RE: PA 23/00524/CON Retrospective application , Replacement windows and doors ,5, Charles St.

PEEL.

Charles Street featured greatly several years ago as a Conservation Area and a Department Scheme for its conservation. We are surprised therefore that the manufacturer and applicant overlooked the necessity of applying for planning approval. That apart we congratulate all concerned with the replacements and fully support the application. The manufacturer may care to note that windows constructed with small Georgian panes did not have horns. When large single panes of plate glass were introduced then it was necessary to strengthen the frame as the heavier glass put more pressure on the corners of the frame hence the introduction of horns.
